Integrated Care

Integrated mental health, hormone, and weight loss care in Omaha & Papillion, NE.

Most healthcare treats anxiety, hormones, and weight like they live in separate bodies. They don't. Our dual ANCC board-certified nurse practitioner addresses mental health, hormones, and metabolic weight management in one coordinated plan, in person in Papillion or by telehealth across 16 states.

Why We Exist

Most healthcare is built for specialties. We built this practice for people.

The standard model sends anxiety to one provider, weight to another, and hormones to a third. Each specialist treats their slice. Nobody connects them. A patient who is gaining weight, having brain fog, and feeling anxious at 45 ends up with three appointments, three prescriptions, and three opinions that may contradict each other.

We built Midwest Mind & Body to do the opposite. We treat mental health, metabolism, and hormones as one connected system, because they are. When one shifts, the others follow. Catching those connections often explains what other providers miss.

Four Principles

How we practice.

01
👂

Listen First

60-minute first visits for mental health. Thorough intake for weight and hormone care. Your story comes before any plan. We ask what you have tried, what worked, and what did not. Then we build from there.

02
📊

Evidence, Not Trends

Every protocol draws from current peer-reviewed research. No wellness fads. No quick-fix promises. We are skeptical of anything that sounds too easy, because in medicine, it usually is.

03
🧬

Whole-Body Lens

Dual board certification (Family & Psychiatric-Mental Health NP) lets us see how your mental health, metabolism, and hormones actually interact. We consider all three at every visit, even if you came in for one.

04
🤝

Partnership Over Prescription

Shared decision-making is not a buzzword here. We offer evidence-based options, explain tradeoffs, and choose together. You leave understanding the plan, not carrying a prescription you did not agree to.

What Integration Looks Like

Real patient scenarios where connections matter.

A

The "Normal Labs" Patient

You are tired, gaining weight, and having brain fog. Your labs come back "normal." A specialty clinic might stop there. We look at thyroid subtleties, perimenopausal patterns, sleep quality, and mood together, and often find what got missed.

B

The GLP-1 Plateau

You started weight loss medication and hit a wall. A medication-only clinic just adjusts the dose. We evaluate sleep, stress, thyroid, muscle mass, and mood, because those change GLP-1 effectiveness in ways most providers overlook.

C

The Anxious, Unfocused 40-Something

Is it ADHD? Anxiety? Perimenopause? Sleep? Often it is all four, interacting. Our dual certification means we can evaluate and treat each properly, instead of calling everything "anxiety" and starting an SSRI.

Our Philosophy

What "integrated care"
actually means.

"Integrated care" is used a lot in healthcare marketing. Here is what it means at Midwest Mind & Body in practice: a single clinician reviews your case across mental health, metabolic, and hormonal domains, not three separate providers passing you between them.

This is made possible by Kim's dual ANCC board certifications as both a Family Nurse Practitioner and a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. That combination is rare. Most NPs specialize in one or the other. The clinical license to see the connections matters.

We also work with trusted therapy partners like Kim Sherwin at Healing Hearts and Bonnie Lovett at A.R.I.S.E., for deeper therapeutic work. You get medical and psychiatric expertise under one roof, with therapy partners who already know how to collaborate with us.

01

One Clinician, Many Lenses

Dual certification = mental, metabolic, and hormonal review in every visit, not three separate appointments.

02

Therapy Partnerships

Vetted therapy partners for deeper work. Coordinated care, not competing opinions.

03

Transparent Pricing

Self-pay is clearly stated. Insurance billing is clearly explained. No surprise charges.

04

Shared Decisions

We offer options, explain tradeoffs, and choose together. You drive the plan; we guide the evidence.
